Dog photoshoots in Suffolk
Relaxed, natural photography for dogs and the people who love them. Based in Ipswich and photographing dogs throughout East Anglia and beyond, Laura creates bespoke dog photography experiences that capture their personality, your connection and all the little quirks that make them yours.
Whether you’re looking for beautiful portraits of your dog, photographs of you together, an outdoor adventure or something a little more fine art, every session is planned around your dog and their personality.
Laura photographs dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments, from the quiet and cautious to the ones who arrive at approximately 100mph. There’s time to sniff, explore and get comfortable before asking anything of them, and sessions are kept relaxed with plenty of opportunity to move, play and reset.
Your dog doesn’t need perfect recall or impeccable manners either - outdoor photographs can be created safely on lead.
Once your photographs have been chosen and retouched, Laura can help you turn your favourites into beautiful artwork for your home, so the personality you love so much gets to live somewhere better than your camera roll.
Your dog. Your story.
But my dog doesn’t sit still…
No worries. They don’t need to!
Some dogs love posing for the camera. Others would much rather be sniffing, exploring, playing or investigating absolutely everything (including Laura!).
That’s all part of it. Laura works at your dog’s pace and uses whatever makes them tick. Whether that’s treats, toys, movement, weird and wonderful noises or simply a little patience. There are no expectations for them to perform, and plenty of time for breaks when they need them.
Some of your favourite photographs might happen in the moments between the ones we plan anyway.
Your dog just needs to be themselves. Laura will take care of the photographs.
What happens at a dog photoshoot?
From the first chat to the finished artwork, everything is planned around you and your dog. Laura will guide you through the whole experience, so you’ll always know what happens next.
A little preparation goes a long way. Before your session, Laura will help you plan everything from the location and what to wear to what you might want to bring for your dog.
Treats, favourite toys and anything that reliably gets their attention are always welcome, along with buckets of patience and humility.
And if your dog has a favourite walk or somewhere you both love spending time, tell Laura. It could be the perfect setting for your photographs!
Your photographs deserve more than a screen
Your photoshoot might last an afternoon, but the photos created from it are designed to stay with you for much longer.
Laura offers a carefully selected collection of professional wall art, fine art prints, albums and keepsakes, helping you turn your favourite photographs into something made for your home. You’ll be able to see and handle product samples at your design session, with Laura there to help you choose the right photographs and pieces for your space.

I could say it a 1000 times over but @laurafiddaman creates the most wonderful photos of art. I despise being in front of a camera lens but somehow Laura just captures moments that are truly priceless and without feeling any pressure to be ‘picture perfect’.
To have these memories are so precious and I cannot thank Laura enough for her time, patience & understanding.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still curious about something? Here are a few questions that Laura is most often asked about dog photoshoots, from keeping your dog on lead and what to bring, to unpredictable weather, digital images and what happens afterwards.
-
Dog photography sessions are £147, which includes £50 credit to put towards your chosen photographic products.
Photographs and artwork are chosen at your Design Session, so you can decide what you love once you’ve actually seen your images.
-
Not at all. In fact, plenty of the dogs you see in Laura’s portfolio were safely photographed on lead. You’d just never know it from the finished photograph. Laura can work with a simple lead, or provide a slip-lead during the session and remove it during retouching where appropriate.
If your dog needs to stay on lead, they stay on lead. It’s as simple as that.
-
If your dog doesn’t sit still, gets a bit overwhelmed or is just plain excited about life that’s absolutely fine! It’s also pretty normal. Throughout the session, Laura will gauge their response and ensure they are getting enough time to sniff, explore and move between photos. Treats, toys and a little creative persuasion usually go a long way too.
-
The Great British weather does like to keep us guessing. Laura monitors the forecast as your session approaches, but there’s no need to panic over a slightly questionable weather app. A bit of cloud cover is actually good for Laura’s style of photography.
If the weather really isn’t going to play ball, Laura keeps space in the diary for backup dates. You’ll be able to rearrange your session date, and avoid battling torrential rain and a miserable pup. Unless that’s their happy place - then maybe we go for it and have a laugh along the way.
For time sensitive sessions, if the weather is awful, we may be able to relocate and change session plans to accommodate.
-
Your session can take place outdoors at a suitable location, or Laura can bring her studio setup to you or another agreed location.
If you have a favourite walk or somewhere that means something to you and your dog, let Laura know. Otherwise she can help you choose somewhere that will work beautifully for the photographs and your dog.
-
Please do! You’re literally their whole life, so you’re the main character in their story. You don’t need to know how to pose, or feel remotely comfortable in front of a camera. Laura will guide you through it and keep things natural.
Partners, children and other family members are welcome to join too. Laura will create a mixture of photographs of you together and of your dog on their own.
-
Bring your dog’s favourite treats (cooked chicken is always a strong contender!) - anything that is high value to them and safe to feed in good quantity. A favourite toy or two, water, poo bags, and a simple lead and collar are essentials.
A spare lead, towel and any whistles or training aids you usually use can be handy too. Laura will talk through everything you need before the session, so there’s no need to arrive with half the stock of Pets at Home!
-
Digital files are available to purchase at your design session, either on their own or alongside your chosen artwork.
Full resolution digital images are available in bundles, while every piece of artwork you order also includes the corresponding web-resolution digital file.
Your photographs are first presented at your design session, so you can see the finished collection properly and choose the images you genuinely love.
